“I like to get everybody together and have all the cars together and people together,” Parts Manager and event organizer Hank Swanson said. “Everybody talks and brags. It’s the interaction with the people and the fact that’s its laid back that makes it fun.
Swanson said this will be the first year there isn’t an entry fee for vehicles. Each entrant will bring canned food, which will be donated to the local food pantry at the Salvation Army.
“It was an idea from Roy and we wanted to do something different this year,” Swanson said. “We will take all the proceeds and canned food and donate it. It’s just Roy’s way of giving back to the community.”
Entrants for the show can arrive between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for set up. The event is expected to have between 60 and 75 entrants, but can easily handle over 100.

All Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Plymouth and AMC street cars, race cars, antiques, trucks and 4x4s qualify for entry.
“We won’t judge them, we will appreciate them,” Swanson pointed out about the show. “We appreciate the cars and the cars that go back into the 60s and 70s. We are not a judging contest; we are a show and shine.”
The show will be in front of the building next to South Locust Street.
Swanson said a new feature this year will be a competition between students from Southeast Community College in Milford. Two teams will be responsible for tearing apart and reassembling an engine in the fastest time.
Also at the show, the State Patrol will have their Dodge Chargers on display along with the seat belt convincer. A passenger straps into the convincer like in a car. A latch is released and the passenger slides down a ramp and hits a stopper and comes to an immediate stop, simulating a head on collision and “convincing” the passenger to wear a seatbelt.
“Attendance always depends on the weather,” Swanson said. “Either way it will be a lot of family fun.”
